Sanguine is considered the archetype of the outgoing, the carefree and the spontaneous. Saguines do their best to prevent dull moments, and are often the first to try something new. They can also be impulsive, distracted and false. Usually extroverts at heart, many sanguines value having many friends and allies. While they can appear self-absored, they also are typically quick to give and accept apologies.

Phlematic is considered the archetype of the calm, kind and consistent. Phlematics are often regarded as diplomatic peacemakers. At times they can be uninvolved, passive-aggressive and pushovers. Often skilled at making friends, phlematics are valued for their ability to compromise. Some phlematics can be quite shy, but most are deeply accepting of others.

Melancholic is considered the archetype of the creative, introspective and detail oriented. Many melancholics are known for the ability to make a plan and stick to it. Sometimes they are prone to being obessive, pessimistic, perfectionists. Often noted for their independence, melancholics are often note for their ability to prevent problems from happening in the first place. While some melancholics can be cautious to the point of inaction, their careful forethought is highly valued.

Choloric is considered the archetype of the confident, ambitious and passionate. Often noted for their natural leader-like qualities, cholorics rarely back down from a problem. They can be prone to being aggressive, up tight and controlling. Cholorics are frequently very goal focused, and rarely struggle with executing their plans. Sometimes cholorics can be unempathetic and rigid, but they are also usually excellent motivators and organizers.
