Dreaming
This is the first stage of the Dream to Awaken questline.
Details
Before you can Awaken, first you must Dream. Of those who survived the incursion of the corruption, few have ever Dreamed, and even fewer have Awakened. Most dreams begin simply enough, starting just like all other dreams. Chasing down dinner, basking in the sun, finding a safe place to den up for the night. But then they begin to change, ever so subtly. Something in the dream begins to call out, and begins to scream for attention. It could be something out of place, something never seen or felt before. Regardless of the signs, the symbols, the message, one must Dream in full before they can Awaken.
Requirements
Depict the Dream, and the sign. Dreams should cover a normal event for a dog’s life - hunting, scavenging, looking for shelter, etc. The sign in the Dream can be anything that is out of place or magical in nature. A sign could be a strange creature, a glowing item, or something else along those lines.
Art: Art should be shaded and coloured, and feature at least 4 distinct elements, including an element that clearly represents the sign.
Writing: Writing should be at least 500 words.

Dream to Awaken
This is an optional prompt in the Into the Wardlands questline!

Each night the Dream comes again, more and more urgent. Some resist the sign for a long time. Months, years, their whole lives. Others see the sign for what it is almost immediately. The sign is a call to become something greater, something more. Eventually, the sign is followed. And the sign leads to the Awakening. A strange sort of knowing, where suddenly life is different, and there’s a new purpose. The knowledge that there’s magic out there, and it can be found. Can be harnessed.

A Gate in the Woods
A strange Gate in the woods awaits ...
Details
After Awakening a constant tug can be felt. Beyond the city, deep in the old woods of Overwild something pulls. Just like a magnet. For most the feeling is constant, and impossible to ignore. Eventually most give in. The pull leads to a cave, filled with carved effigies. Deep in the back of the cave there's a strange arch. A Gate, perhaps? But to where.
Reaching the Gate results in a brief sense of peace. Part of the journey has been completed.
Requirements
Depict your character arriving at the Gate. Most characters feel drawn to the Gate, some are lead to it directly from signs in their dreams.
Art: Art should be shaded and coloured, and feature at least 4 distinct elements, including the Gate.
Writing: Writing should be at least 500 words.

Arrival
Details
As soon as a foot is set through the Gate there's a whisking sensation. A feeling of being transported at high speed. And then just as suddenly as the sensation began, it ends. Air tinged with scent of pine greets the newest arrival in the Wardlands. All around pines and bare scraggly trees stretch towards the sky. In the distance there are mountains. This is certainly not the same place from a moment ago.
The ground is compacted soil, with patches of grass, and small path of rough cobbled stones. The stones lead off into the distance where what appears to the the top of a tower peaks out from the ground. It's the only real visible landmark, and the path seems to lead directly to it. Above the path strange little flecks of glowing light seem to hang in the air, as if inviting the new arrival to continue onward.
Requirements
THIS PROMPT IS OPTIONAL AND DOES NOT NEED TO BE COMPLETED IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE A TRIAL OF MAGIC QUEST.
Depict your character arriving in the Wardlands, and their reaction. You can show them at the Gate, on the path, noticing the Sunken Tower or anything else relating to their arrival.
Art: Art should be shaded and coloured, and feature at least 4 distinct elements.
Writing: Writing should be at least 500 words.
